THE ANAHEIM STREET PUMP STATION, situated in Long Beach at the Dominguez Channel, was a challenge. With a 43 foot deep pit, there were going to be 12 big struts intersecting the pump station walls at 24 locations.  That's 48 intersections through each form.  Yeager/ Skanska hired August Construction to solve this challenge, and we did - by designing an elliptical pit.  Not only were the struts eliminated, but there was more room to work to speed the construction of the pump station.  A good example of August Construction's "value engineering".
