HIGUERA STREET

Diamond core drilling through a  20' river-boulder wall for tie-down anchors.  The tiedowns were anchored 10 to 25 feet into the variable bedrock below the wall.  The two walls forming the 20 foot wide river-channel were strengthened below the street to support the onrush of water during winter.

The Thursday night Fair on Higuera St. as the work site lays idle after 3:30 pm.  The silo and grout plant was used for the mass grouting of the rubble wall, which was up to 4 foot wide, but hollow on the inside.  There was no structural steel in the boulder wall prior to the tiedown installation.
